• Ripley's health

  • Ripley's fat bump removal

Thank you so much for being willing to deal with this.

Main thing to say - sorry, there's an action for you!

We didn't expect this, and we are really sorry, but he had to have four staples in the wound last week. The original plan was that he would only have the self-dissolving ones, but now he needs to go to the vet to have them removed. But it's only just down the road, Park Vets in Penarth - not Cardiff or Bristol.

    We hope that's OK!

We didn't know when you'd be free, so we haven't booked an appointment - Oli says he is happy to do this. They know you are looking after him, and they have already agreed to invoice us later, not to ask you for money. His microchip came out with the fat bump, so they might try to pop another one in when they take the stitches out.

    Daily management

He has to wear his little t-shirt all the time until Easter Monday. There are two spares in his drawer, under the microwave.

He is only allowed short walks, on the lead, until Easter Monday.

And please could you have a look at how the wound is healing up every day? - any problems at all (eg if it's swelling, or red or infected) please contact the vet.

If he's trying to lick it or scratch it, you can put his doughnut on for a bit and he'll calm down.

Here are the Park Vets numbers: Penarth 029 2070 3952 Cardiff 02920 382211

This is the emergency number: 029 2038 2211

  • Ripley's ears

If he scratches his ears a lot and they are red and sore, they are probably a bit infected - let us know and I'll tell you where the stuff is and what to do.

  • Ripley's heart

    Don't worry!

    Ripley's heart

As you know, Ripley has arrythmia - but there are no symptoms and he doesn't have any drugs now.

The only thing to tell you is that the vet says if he suddenly seems really ill and sad, to call the vet. They know about him, and will prioritise you.

He is with Park Vets - if there is a serious problem they will probably ask you to come to Cardiff. The Cardiff address is Sanatorium Rd, Cardiff CF11 8DG. it's just on the right after the crossroads with Heol Terrell and Sanatorium Road.

Here is the Contact Us bit of their website.

If he needs any treatment, he is fully insured, so please feel free to say yes to everything. Hopefully, Park Vets will just invoice us later - if by any chance they want you to pay on the spot, we hope this is OK and we will pay you back immediately.
